There isn’t exactly a shortage of first base options to choose from, but there is an option the Red Sox can pick up for cheap.

The Red Sox acquired pitchers Jordan Hicks and Kyle Harrison as well as prospects James Tibbs III and Jose Bello. Baseball America ranked Tibbs as the Giants’ No. 3 prospect and is a power-hitting outfielder. The Giants also took on the entirety of Devers’ contract, which has eight years and $250 million remaining.
