The Odisha government plans to introduce a new system in the Jagannath temple, Puri, and provide devotees better facilities to catch a glimpse of the deities, Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan, said Sunday.

An elderly servitor (Mukha Pakhala Sevayat) sustained grievous injuries after he was allegedly attacked by another servitor near Beharana Dwara of the Jagannath temple in Puri on Monday. The victim has been identified as Biswanath Khuntia.

Special arrangements are also being made for women, children, differently abled persons, and senior individuals visiting the temple, as part of the move, the minister said.
