Following the breakout success of Boygenius in 2023, and its three members laying relatively low in 2024, Lucy Dacus is the first member of the trio to officially announce a solo album, her first since 2021’s acclaimed “Home Video.

Lucy Dacus’ focus the past couple years has been on Boygenius, but now she’s back solo: Today (January 15), she announced a new album, Forever Is A Feeling. She also shared two new songs: “Limerence” and “Ankles,” the latter of which has a new video out now.

Speaking of her mind-set making the album, Dacus says, “I got kicked in the head with emotions. Falling in love, falling out of love. You have to destroy things in order to create things. And I did destroy a really beautiful life.

You can’t actually capture forever,” Dacus says. “But I think we feel forever in moments. I don’t know how much time I’ve spent in forever, but I know I’ve visited.” In February, the singer-songwriter is set to visit a number of less liminal places than forever,

Queer singer-songwriter Lucy Dacus has announced a new album, music video and North America tour. Dacus, who won three Grammys with supergroup boygenius, dropped the music video for new single “Ankles” on Wednesday (15 January),

Dacus will tour in support of Forever Is a Feeling starting in April. The North American trek with start on April 16, in Philadelphia, and wind through New York, Toronto, Nashville, Chicago, Dallas, and elsewhere before wrapping up May 14 with a concert in Los Angeles.
