The Yankees have made their first acquisition of the new year, signing veteran infielder Paul DeJong to a Minor League contract with an invitation to Major League Spring Training, MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand has confirmed.

The Philadelphia Phillies reportedly join the New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox, and Chicago Cubs in the pursuit of an All-Star player who remains a free agent ahead of the upcoming MLB season.
