In the 87th Tata Steel Chess Tournament 2025, R Praggnanandhaa won his sixth game, Arjun Erigaisi secured his first victory, and Gukesh settled for a draw. Highlights included Praggnanandhaa's win over Alexey Sarana and Abdusattorov's defeat by Erigaisi.

Indian Grandmaster R Praggnanandhaa beat Alexey Sarana of Serbia to register his third straight victory and take his tally to a commendable 8.5 points after the end of the 12th and penultimate round of Tata Steel Masters here on Saturday.

R Praggnanandhaa came up with a dominating performance against Vladimir Fedoseev who chose the Tarrasch defense as black.

Over the course of 11 games in the Tata Steel chess tournament, world champion Gukesh's rating has gone up by 16 points. He is currently rated at 2793, just one point off his career best rating of 2794.

India's Gukesh scored a win over compatriot Leon Mendonca in ninth round of the Tata Steel Masters to go clear at the top.

World Champion GM Gukesh Dommaraju continued his unbeaten streak with a win over Leon Mendonca in round 9, securing the sole lead on the leaderboard of the 2025 Tata Steel Masters in the Netherlands on Tuesday.
