BOSTON – Joonas Korpisalo made 29 saves and posted his third shutout of the season for the Boston Bruins in a 2-0 win against the Ottawa Senators at TD Garden on Thursday.
Korpisalo appeared in relief and stopped five of six shots in Wednesday's 5-1 loss to New Jersey. Korpisalo entered the ice in the third period after Jeremy Swayman allowed four goals on 29 shots faced before being pulled.
Joonas Korpisalo readily admitted that he wasn’t at his best all day on Monday. But given the opportunity to preserve a win for the Bruins against the San Jose Sharks, the netminder showed up at the right time.
