Cannabis activists say a Florida bill to allow medical marijuana patients to grow cannabis at home is too restrictive to meet the needs of most patients.

Senate Bill 546 would allow medical marijuana patients to grow no more than two cannabis plants at home, as long as they apply and get a "cultivation certificate" from the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.

Florida lawmakers have filed bills for the 2025 legislative session that would add eligible medical conditions, allow homegrown plants and more.
