As the Boston Celtics enter the upcoming offseason, the team has a lot of uncertainty around the roster. While Boston does have more of its core signed for years, there is a heavy expectation that the Celtics will be active this summer.

Their Game 6 defeat came days after star forward Jayson Tatum underwent surgery to repair a torn Achilles tendon, an injury that will keep him out for the majority, if not all, of next season.  Where do the Celtics go from here?

The Celtics will only have access to the veteran minimum contract as second apron team. They are currently $20 million over the second apron. However, if Boston does trim enough payroll to get under the second apron, they would get access to the taxpayer mid-level exception in free agency ($5.6 million).
