The Sundance Institute announced Thursday that its influential movie festival will leave Park City, Utah — its home since 1981 — and move east to Boulder, Colorado. The decision comes after a nearly year-long search for a potential new host for the Sundance Film Festival.

As Colorado celebrated the coming move of the Sundance Film Festival to Boulder, Colorado film industry leaders were looking ahead at what seemed like potential for more production.
