THE GREENVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT IS CONDUCTING AN ARSON INVESTIGATION. OFFICERS SAY THEY RESPONDED TO A CAR FIRE THIS MORNING AROUND 4:00. WHEN THEY GOT THERE, THEY SAW TWO CARS ON FIRE.
Two adults and three children were inside the home at the time and managed to escape safely. Franchessai Winston-Johnson is charged with aggravated arson. Damage is estimated at $27,000.
Arson investigators have been called to investigate. This is not the first time this house has had a fire, authorities say, and the home may be planned for demolition for code compliance issues.
