There were no tickets sold with all six numbers in the latest drawing of the multi-state Mega Millions lottery, pushing the estimated jackpot for Friday's drawing to $42 million.

Mega Millions tickets sold in Florida, Minnesota and New Jersey won $1 million, just missing the $20 million jackpot, lottery officials said. The tickets matched five winning numbers, but not the Mega Ball, in the drawing Tuesday, Dec. 31, the national Mega Millions site said.

The California Lottery announced in a post on X that the winning $1.269 billion Mega Millions ticket, which has a cash value of $571.9 million, was purchased at a Circle K (Sunshine Food and Gas) at 3505 Rhonda Road in Cottonwood.
