Cold wave intensifies in Delhi NCR, Cold wave alert, Delhi temperature: The cold wave conditions have further intensified in Delhi-NCR after rain lashed several parts on Friday. The heavy rains threw traffic out of gear in many places.

The IMD has forecast a further drop in temperatures across the Delhi-NCR, Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan regions over the next two days. Residents in the affected regions have been advised to prepare for colder conditions as the mercury dips further.

At 7:23 am, the temperature in Delhi was recorded at 13 degrees Celsius, with cold winds accentuating the chill. Residents reported a significant increase in the cold severity following the downpour,

Several parts of north India experienced cold wave conditions with Jammu and Kashmir still under the grip of Chillai-Kalan, a 40-day extreme winter that began on December 21.

Delhi Airport advised passengers to check flight statuses with airlines due to dense fog causing low visibility. The IMD had warned of dense fog on December 26, 27, and 28. Partly cloudy skies and light rain are expected.
