Edmonton Oilers coach Kris Knoblauch thinks it has been a bit of an unfortunate final for Connor McDavid given the amount of scoring chances that just haven't gone in.

This year, McDavid (seven goals, 26 assists) and teammate Leon Draisaitl (11 goals, 22 assists) are tied for the playoff scoring lead with 33 points apiece. Draisaitl leads the Oilers with eight points (four goals, four assists) in the Cup Final. McDavid is right behind with seven points (one goal, six assists).

After losing Game 5, the Edmonton Oilers now face elimination. Their 2025 playoff run is barely hanging on, and if they’re still going to win the Stanley Cup, they need their leader Connor McDavid to start firing again.
