Australia, England, India and the International Cricket Council’s new chair Jay Shah are in talks to split Test cricket into two divisions, so the big three nations can play each other more often.

Australia, India, and England, along with the ICC, are reportedly discussing a two-tier Test cricket system to have the big three nations play each other more often. This proposed system may start after 2027,

The move to split the 12 Test playing teams has been in discussion for sometime. The idea will again be debated when the top bosses of Cricket Australia and England and Wales Cricket Board meet ICC Chair Jay Shah later this month.

India contemplated Test cricket without Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma on Monday after the star duo again failed to fire in the bruising series defeat to Australia.
