Major airlines issued flight alerts and people in Los Angeles scrambled to evacuate as an out-of-control wildfire raged in the southern California city on Wednesday.

The city's major airports are mostly unaffected, although Hollywood Burbank Airport is warning that there have been some flight impacts from the fire. Other tourist attractions in the city, like Universal Studios and the Getty Museum are also closed as a result.

The plane landed safely but is out of service because the collision damaged its wing, a Cal Fire spokesman said.

As wildfires continue to damage large parts of California, airlines have issued warnings about travel to the region.
