Announced in January, the Surface Hub will go on sale in September, according to Brian Eskridge, senior manager for the Microsoft Surface Hub. Pre-orders for the computer begin Wednesday.

Then Teams Rooms on Surface Hub (KB5004196) will install Teams Version 1.4.00.14501 and "will automatically upgrade to the latest available version during regular maintenance hours," says Microsoft.

The Surface Hub 2 Smart Camera works with Microsoft's Surface Hub 2S videoconferencing device. It's being sold separately from that device starting on March 16, 2022.

The Surface Hub 2S unit costs $8,999 for the 50-inch model and $21,999 for the 85-inch version, so the compute unit is expected to be less expensive, especially for the larger model.
