Striking workers at Textron Aviation have agreed to a new five-year contract with the company, bringing their four-week strike to an end.

WICHITA — Striking Machinists union members at Textron Aviation are scheduled to begin returning to work this week. Union members voted over the weekend to accept the company’s latest contract offer. The union had rejected the first contract proposal and went on strike Sept. 23.

After nearly a month on strike, Machinists Union workers at Textron Aviation in Wichita are expected to return to work after voting Sunday to accept the latest contract offer from the company.

Local Textron IAM members voted to accept the latest contract offer on Sunday which covers nearly 5,000 members across three campuses in Wichita. They will return to work beginning Wednesday,

With the ratification of the most recent contract, Textron workers are ending their strike after one month. The workers will return to work shortly and some components of the contract are effective immediately.

IAM officials have yet to release ballot totals at Textron, while simultaneously preparing to ram through a deal at Boeing in a snap vote this week.

The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers District 70, Local Lodge 774, ratified a new five-year contract to end the four-week strike at Textron Aviation.
