WATERVLIET TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A West Michigan pup is now safe after being rescued by Michigan State Police. Sophie, 11, and her owner were out for a walk in Watervliet Township at about 10 p.m. Thursday when the 11-year-old fell into an estimated 5-to-6-foot deep gas line hole, according to troopers. However, the pup would not be stuck for long.
