Paige Bueckers carried UConn to its record 24th Final Four of the women’s NCAA Tournament, scoring 31 points Monday night in a 78-64 victory over Southern California, which couldn’t overcome the loss of injured star JuJu Watkins.
UConn women’s basketball defeated No. 1-seed USC 78-64 in the Elite Eight behind a combined 53 points from Paige Bueckers and Sarah Strong.
The Final Four in Tampa Bay, Florida is made up of three No. 1 seeds — UCLA , South Carolina and Texas. UConn, however, is the betting favorite to cut down the nets as the sole No. 2 seed remaining.
The Women's Final Four tips off on Friday night at 7 p.m. ET, with South Carolina favored over Texas. UConn is laying 7.5 points vs. UCLA in the late game.
Bueckers has scored a total of 50 points across those two games, including 28 when UConn defeated USC in the Elite Eight last year to advance to the Final Four. Bueckers has also recorded a total of 13 rebounds and eight assists and has shot 44.4 percent from the field and 35.7 percent from 3-point range against the Trojans.
