Vance Boelter, the man accused of killing a top Democratic state lawmaker and wounding another is now facing new and upgraded state charges. The new indictment comes just a week after he pleaded not guilty to separate charges in federal court.

It's still unclear whether accused assassin's attorney plans to pursue a mental health defense now that his not guilty plea has been made.

Vance Boelter, 58, of Green Isle, Minnesota, was indicted July 15 on six counts of murder, stalking and firearms violations.
