DALLAS — Paige Bueckers has done her best to live in the present during a short period in which she went from winning a national championship with UConn earlier this month to being the No. 1 overall pick in the WNBA draft and now donning a Stetson cowboy hat on a podium in Dallas City Hall.

No. 1 WNBA draft pick Paige Bueckers is officially being introduced by the Dallas Wings on Wednesday. Bueckers, along with fellow Wings rookies, Aziaha James, Madison Scott, JJ Quinerly and Baylor alum Aaronette Vonleh will make their first appearance in Dallas with Mayor Eric Johnson and City Manager Kimberly Tolbert.

The 2025 WNBA season is quickly approaching, with preseason action tipping off on May 2. The Dallas Wings will take on the Las Vegas Aces in what will likely be Paige Bueckers’ first game action in the WNBA. There’s plenty of buzz surrounding the No. 1 overall pick, with many believing she’s poised to become the league’s next big star.
