In 2021, we set out to create a new red. A better red. Named “Best Invention” by Time magazine and dubbed “Truly revolutionary” by Forbes, Red 0 is our vegan replacement for carmine, a widely used pigment produced from crushed female insects. It took 3 years to develop, 175 color experiments, 36 pigment combinations, and 19 full formulations before arriving at the perfect shade.
