The #LCSO is celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Drug Abuse Resistance Education program today – otherwise known as .D.A.R.E., D.A.R.E has been in the Loudoun County Public Schools since 1987, where it is taught to fifth-grade students by specially trained LCSO deputies. In 2012, Sheriff Chapman expanded D.A.R.E. to middle schools to better address peer pressure, and it is now taught to sixth graders as well. Nearly 200,000 of Loudoun’s students have participated in D.A.R.E over the years, a
