Watching a pod of common dolphin at sunset is so mesmerizing! In the summer, warmer temperatures and trips that depart late in the day allow for sights like this. We are so fortunate the have so many dolphin off the coast of Southern California and Newport Beach frees easy access to deep water canyons which create upwelling and lots of nutrients for these animals. Common dolphin are the smallest dolphin we see here, only reaching up to around 200 pounds max but what they lack in size, they make
