St Ann’s, the Royal Navy’s Church in Portsmouth Naval Dockyard, has discovered a WW1 memorial which had lain hidden for over 20 years. The memorial is for an Unknown Stoker who was killed in action whilst serving on HMS Vindictive during the Raid on Ostend on the 10 May 1918. His body was washed up after the raid was over and buried in Ostend by the Germans.
