Cuban Crocodiles carry symbolic weight in Cuba, an island that some say forms the shape of a crocodile. They are top predators and ecosystem engineers that shape and maintain mangrove forests by excavating underwater caves and canals. But they have been reduced to the smallest range of any crocodilian in the world.
