Buffalo has wings, Philly has cheesesteaks and Knoxville has sandwiches — steamed sandwiches, to be exact. These mushy local favorites have been a Knoxville staple for 30 years. Though the city isn't as saturated with places serving steamed sandwiches as it used to be, a handful of restaurants, corner stores, markets and delis are refusing to let this culinary tradition slip away.
