Dosewallips State Park on Hood Canal was the setting for this year's Capitol Campout. Fifty-five kids from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Thurston County and an Olympia-based Boy Scout Troop spent the hot weekend learning knot-tying, fire safety with Smokey Bear, meeting a red-tailed hawk and an owl from the West Sound Wildlife Shelter.
